Yes, and most men do. You are welcome to bring your partner or a family member if that would make the visit easier, but it is never expected and never required.
You explain the problem in your own words, followed by relevant questions about health, medication and lifestyle. An examination is carried out only with your agreement, and any tests are explained before they are ordered.
For a first discussion, for going through test results and for follow up, video works well. Conditions that need examination will require one visit in person, and you are told at the time if that applies to you.
Routine appointments are usually available within a few days. Where a symptom suggests something urgent, you are offered an earlier slot, and you should seek emergency care rather than wait if the problem is severe.
Anaesthesia, day care, who operates, and the risks you should be told about.
Many are not. Circumcision, frenuloplasty and several minor procedures are performed under local anaesthesia while you stay awake and comfortable. Longer operations use sedation or general anaesthesia, decided together with the anaesthetist.
Most male health procedures are day care, meaning you go home the same day. An overnight stay is planned only for longer reconstructive or combined operations, and you know that well in advance.
The consulting surgeon performs the surgery personally, supported by a trained theatre team and a qualified anaesthetist. You meet the people involved before the procedure begins.
Every procedure carries some risk of bleeding, infection, swelling, altered sensation, or a result that later needs revision. The specific risks for your operation, and how often they are seen in practice, are explained before consent is taken.
Sometimes, if the total operating time stays safe and the recovery of one does not compromise the other. Combining can cut the total time off work, and it is considered case by case rather than offered as a package.
That is a perfectly valid outcome of a consultation. You can take the written plan away, think it over, seek another opinion, and come back later. Nothing is booked until you say so.

After a minor day care procedure most men return to office work in two to five days. Physical work, gym training and long travel usually need one to three weeks, depending on what was done.
Usually four to six weeks after genital surgery, and sooner after non surgical treatment. A specific date is given at the follow up visit, once healing has been checked rather than assumed.
Where an incision is needed it is placed in a natural crease or along the line of the foreskin so that it settles quietly. Scars mature over several months, and simple care in the early weeks makes a noticeable difference.
Mild to moderate soreness for a few days is normal and is controlled with simple tablets. Severe pain, spreading redness, fever or heavy bleeding is not expected, and you should make contact straight away if any of these occur.
Usually one within the first week and another at four to six weeks. Extra reviews are arranged if healing is slower than expected, or if the treatment is part of a staged plan.
How an estimate is prepared, what it covers, and the payment methods accepted.
Cost depends on the procedure, the type of anaesthesia, the theatre time required and whether an overnight stay is needed. A written estimate is given after the consultation, once the plan is clear.
A single figure would be misleading, because two men needing the same operation can need very different amounts of work. An accurate estimate can only be given after examination, and it is always provided in writing.
The written estimate covers the surgeon fee, theatre and anaesthesia charges, routine consumables and the planned follow up visits. Tests, medicines and any unrelated treatment are listed separately so that nothing is hidden.
Some procedures with a clear medical indication, such as surgery for a tight foreskin, may be covered, while purely aesthetic procedures generally are not. The paperwork needed for a claim can be prepared for you.
Cash, card, bank transfer and the standard digital payment apps are all accepted. Where a plan is staged over several months, payment is taken stage by stage rather than in one amount at the start.
